July 2017—The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) elected two new Commissioners and re-elected two others to its Commission at its 42nd Biannual Meeting in Honolulu, HI, in May.
Elected to terms on the Commission were Pete Laux, Senior Equipment Manager, Kiewit Equipment Services, and Chuck Wigger, Safety Director, Lamar Advertising Company. Pete Laux, who also serves on the NCCCO Board of Directors, brings extensive technical experience to the Commission, while Chuck Wigger— formerly an Alternate Commissioner—brings a unique perspective from the sign industry. Laux will serve in the User category, while Wigger is alternate to the Public Member.
Re-elected to additional five-year terms as Commissioners were Roy Bolton, crane operator training coordinator at Cianbro Corporation, representing the User category, and Bo Collier, president of Crane Tech, representing the Consultants category.
The 30-member Commission of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) represents all stakeholders that use cranes and rigging equipment through 10 industry groups: Crane Users, Crane Manufacturers, Insurance, Consultants, International, Government/Regulatory, Associations, Labor, Owners (Petrochemical), and the Public. Commissioners are elected by the Commission, subject to Board of Directors review, and serve five-year terms.
