March 2016—Chris Treml, Director of Training at the International Union of Operating Engineers (Washington, DC), has been appointed as an Alternate Commissioner to Bill LaFlamme (IUOE Local 4) on the Commission of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). Although he now works out of the IUOE international headquarters in Washington, DC, Treml has been an active member of IUOE Local 57 since 1988, where he served as training director for nine years.
Additionally, three Commissioners were reappointed to further five-year terms: Kenneth Shinn, KJ Shinn (Users Category); Fred Simmons, Crane Manufacturers Association of America (Associations Category); and William “Bill” Smith, NBIS (Insurance Category).
