May 2014—For the fifteenth year in a row, Buckner HeavyLift Cranes (Graham, NC) sponsored the annual CCO Fun Run at the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) Annual Conference on April 23, 2014, in Boca Raton, Florida. This year’s run/walk, entitled the “Boca Bolt,” sent more than 50 participants on early morning 5K circuits around the beautiful seaside Boca Raton Resort and again raised substantial funds to support NCCCO programs and initiatives.
Buckner President Doug Williams generously provided commemorative Boca Bolt tee shirts, beverages, and snacks. “Buckner is pleased to put on this fun annual event to support NCCCO’s efforts to improve crane safety,” Williams said. At the end of the run, he was presented a certificate of appreciation acknowledging Buckner’s 15 years supporting NCCCO and the CCO Fun by NCCCO Executive Directory Graham Brent.
While runners ran around the scenic Boca Raton Resort & Club Golf Course, walkers used a separate course more suited for walking at a more leisurely pace. For the first time all participants received their official finishing time; they also received tee shirts and stickers to put on their SC&RA name badges to show their support of NCCCO’s efforts promoting crane safety.
Participants are already looking forward to next year’s event, which will be held at the La Costa Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, Calif.
